Buy hay / bedding in bulk.
Have hay / haylage / grass as the bulk of the diet.
Minimal hard feed as needed.

When strings go on hay nets buy a reel of white nylon rope from home base it's about a fiver and you can replace the strings instead of chucking them away, there is enough to do several strings so cheaper than buying new ones.

Rug to keep warm to save on feeding for weight maintenance.
Clean your tack - it's expensive, look after it.

I’m wary of buying in bulk. I bought a pallet of haylage and the rats chewed holes in some of them. The wastage negated all the savings I’d made ?

BB gets what he gets, I dont have oodles of space to store in bulk and hes limited to what he can eat so no money saving for me, but tbf hes not that expensive ?
