When were passports first issued and enforced for horses?
Just because my ponys passport says he was born 2000 but the conformation of his swirls etc are 2006 onwards so wasnt sure if it was 2006 when passports were first issued.

Either that or my ponys passport was lost and got new one in 2006.

I think it came into force in 2005 that a horse is not allowed to be sold without a passport.. but some people took a while to get them done. It took a while to filter through to non-affiliated people a bit I think aswell.

Is this just a passport or his vaccination certificate? I think we had to get the vet to reconfirm the horses markings from his vac. cert. before we could get a passport so it was dated later. Of course it might be that one got lost as you said.

its his passport. He had no vaccinations before we got him according to his passport, hes fully vaccinated now though.

& hmm, i might ask the vet to take a look at his passport.

I think its really interesting knowing where they came from and about them haha, bit sad though
