Equine Photo Shoot - Ideas Please!

Hello,

For my 21st my parents are getting me a photo shoot with my horse and my dog! I will have some photos taken of us 3 on the ground, but ridden wise i'm not sure what I want (I want to look like a dressage queen - this will never happen!!)

Any ideas of stuff we could do, happy to go bareback (may need to practise so I dont fall off )

Birthday is in June, so time to practise posing and looking photogenic!!

If you're going to wear a dress (Some people like to, I think 9/10 it looks silly ) then go barefoot. Heels and horses looks RIDICULOUS!

Otherwise, don't prep. Much better if it's natural and not staged and posed.

Wasnt planning on wearing a dress!! Thinking competition breeches and a smart pale polo (Ariat/Joules) with minimal detail!

How about popping over some jumps? visiting XC course? beach? riding in fields with oil seed rape look lovely

I do love the photo Mum has of her, walking away from the camera. black and white, with tired/relaxed horse ( Dope on a rope) - and dog walking alongside.
Everyone relaxed just rounding off the day.

more action shots could include some bareback (Practice not falling off and making sure horse doesnt freak out!)

I wish I could get some proper shots of my girlie - Mum keeps chopping off my head!!!! (mind you, sometimes this improves the photo!)

Ooo oil seed rape fields sounds pretty exciting!! I will have to have a scope round and try to find some scenic hacking and prey B behaves himself!! He is more relaxed cantering in a group than on his own - div horse!

Yes, I like the sound of that, I love racing/hunting photos where the horse is being washed off and steaming, so maybe a take on that!!

Another vote for the B&W relaxed pics! I also like it when dogs 'lead' horses by having the lead rope in their mouths. Can be very cute when done well!

Have a look at the photographers website, there should be some good ideas on there? One local equine photo shoot photographer has a selection of pics on his website, www.equinephotoshoots.co.uk . Have a look at what your photographer normally does and go from there
