hi everyone,

I usually use a mcTimoney practitioner, but my horse is really sore on one side of his hind quarters (muscle) - he won't really let me touch it and it is obviously hurting when lifting up his leg to pick out hooves etc. He is not lame (although I'm not riding him).

I obviously want to get it looked at asap, but the mcTimoney is very 'hands on' and quite physical, I don't want him in pain - or the lady being kicked if she's pullig it about.

So I was considering the infra red lady! Don't know much about this though.

Any experiences?

I had a physio out to my two last night. it was VERY interesting.

Bloss has a deep muscle injury in her sacroillyiac (sp) and she had H Wave treatment, along with laser treatment. It was amazing watching the muscles starting to relax as treatment progressed. Shes on no work until saturday, then light lunging with just her bridle on with little bits of trot for the week. Physio is coming back out on friday next week.

I was surprised at the price aswell, it cost me £140 for a good 2hrs plus of work, with both my horses having the H Wave treatment, altho Archie only had it for 10mins as he was just a bit tight, nothing major. Blossy had it for 30mins, plus the laser.

its definately worth it.

Probably best to speak to current lady and see if she uses muscle techniques too?

I am a McTimoney-Corley therapist and use manipulation and muscle release. Also, massage, passive stretching and intrasound massage for conditions as you have described.

If your current lady doesnt, maybe phone a couple of others and ask about what techniques they use as most nowadays are muscle and manipulation based

If you look on www.mctimoney-corley.com there is a list of practitioners in each county.
