Hi all,
Today was the 1st time i've heard of these "Rhythm beads" and i was just wondering if anyone could explain what they do, to me or if any of you have an experience using these or pics feel free to post, thank you.

Thanks for the link, i hadn't herd of them until today! they've been known to calm down spooky horses and in some cases "perk" them up! i think my mare may dis-own me if i put her in a what looks like a necklace:D

I'm not sure mine would either notice or care  I don't think it would affect how they behave either tbh :D

I hack alone so ride with Lahore bells clipped to my martingale to flush out wildlife. Same effect as the bells on rhythm beads (but louder) and way cheaper. My horse responds well to the noise, she can be a bit spooky these days if I forget to pop them on. And I don’t care if other liveries laugh it keeps us safe from stupid low flying pheasants.

Hi, first time posting so don't shoot me down. My daughter read about these a couple of years ago (she was 9) so we made her some for her pony. They can be quite useful, especially for children, as they make them listen to the footfalls and rhythmns that their pony makes in the different gaits. Depending on how much you read into it, different colour beads are supposed to have different properties e.g purple/amethyst beads are calming!!
Up to you really but it certainly won't do any harm.

I was reading about this earlier actually in one of my horsey magazines. I'm not really sure what to make of it! They say that our ancestors would use them to fend off evil spirits and to produce positive energy as others have said the different colours are supposed to give off different moods/states of mind. I'm not really convinced but can see they would be helpful for warning people on a hack of your presence particularly with barefooot horses like mine. Not sure what effect it would have on my boy I think if I was to buy some the whole yard would laugh at me! lol I will keep my eye on this thread and see if anyone has any experience of them. I can imagine my boy hearing them and thinking what the hell and run away from them! Any excuse to go at speed the mood he's in lately! lol

rhythm beads are supposed to be useful for Green horses, novice riders and for alerting animals or people of your presence especially if you have a barefoot horse.

They help by giving horses something to focus on which helps them find there balance and get a good rhythm, they also distract them from potentially frightening situations.

They help novice riders in similar ways by helping them here the beat of a gait and helping them get a rhythm.

Hope this was of any help :D

yes def let us know how you get on! i'll be very intrested!
ooo will have a look on E-bay forgot bout that:D

Will do!
Poor ol' Neddy is lame, so I'll show it to him slowly and get him used to the bells, then try it when I can ride him next (hopefully next week)
I'll try them on whoever I ride while Neddy's lame too :)

Thank you Cheryl&Donny, it helped:D don't have a spooky pony but might warn "scary squirrels" to stay away while were out and about as they often make us both jump! lol

Hope Neddy makes a speedy recovery, yes def let as know, i might just have to try and find a creative side in me...lol!
