I have bowen on my mare. Its based around the muscles around the skeleton through massage and acupressure. Is how it was explained to me.

Equine Touch is very similar to Bowen although not exactly the same - it is based on Bowen Therapy but Jock, the founder of Equine Touch has basically built his own system which has it's roots in Bowen. ( As far as I'm aware although I'm prepared to be corrected!) Bowen originated in Australia and Equine Touch is American. I have done Level 1 Equine Touch and my dog has regular Bowen Therapy and the moves are very similar - both concentrate on rebalancing the body through manipulating the muscles. I have no idea what Shiatsu is though!
