Hi

Has anyone used the equiport comfort girth & can give me their opinion on it? Looking at getting one for my pony who has a very forward girth groove and an everyday girth almost folds over her elbow it sits so far forwards, she also can be quite girthy.. Has anyone seen an improvement with he equiport comfort and is the quality any good?

Or has anyone got the prolite fairfax and can recommend it more so?
Many thanks

If she is a pony, rather than a horse, I wouldn't think either will work. My 14.2 is a massive 14.2 but girths like this are just too big and don't fit how they should.

Have a look at professionals choice neoprene ventech girths. This girth has revolutionised my life and not particularly expensive either.

I was considering the narrow guage prolite which were recently released & described as for ponies, did you use a narrow or just normal one?.. Will take a look at the professionals choice one, thank you!

Well really any of them. I just don't think they fit how they should on a pony. I've heard the prolite one has caused serious rubbing to some horses as well.

I've messed around with all sorts of shaped leather, plain cotton, nylon, and dead sheep girths to no great success (always a small or worse than small skin disturbance of some kind). This girth I got as part of a hire package for a saddle I've got to try and it's just amazing. So soft and also grippy so there is no chance it can rub. She had some lumpy bits in the girth area and they have disappeared since I started using it about 3 weeks ago.

She's quite a fine sports pony so has a very small ribcage but shes a bit tubby at the moment so her girth groove is almost even more forwards then usual hence I'm looking for one that's shaped enough so it doesn't cut in at her elbows, interesting about the prolities rubbing but since she can be sensitive would probably get a fleece coved for it

Another vote for the professionals choice. It really is the best girth I've ever used, my mare has a forward girth groove and she is really comfy in this girth. You do have to be careful not to over tighten it but it doesn't need to be done up tight as its grippy.

I have the narrow prolite on a 14 hh cob - it fits her well and no rubbing. It helped with her forward groove. Even the pro choice was getting marked behind her elbows (love the pro choice and use it on my other cob). Good luck, it is so expensive finding the best fit.

I have the prolite fairfax & love it. I used the narrow one as I have a connie x tb who is quite fine when he's not eating to much. Lots of girths rub he but this one being cut away from the front legs seems to work well for him
