Equisafety fluorescent exercise rug

Does anybody have one?

http://www.highvisibility.uk.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=76&product_id=76

I've been wanting a lightweight one for the summer and these are in the sale at the moment, but I'm not sure on the sizing? It says that cob is 6'3" - 6'6" but my boy is a chunky 14.2 and 5'9", surely he can't be what they call 'show pony'!?

I'd got with the cob size! esp as one of the reviews has said that theirs was a bit tight over their horses butt! would rather have a big of extra length.

I have the winter version and the mercury one. The pony size fits my arabs (both 5'9 rugs and the crabbet bred one is quite chunky for an arab) and the anglo who takes 6ft - 6ft3 rugs has the cob size (although I have used the pony size one on her - it was a tad tight).

I have one on order, luckily I have a horse and expect the horse one will fit her nicely. I like that it has a strap around the chest though haven't yet received it.

I bought one, and love it they do come up big IMO. I went by the sizing on the website which suggested a pony size for 5'9-6' rugs which was 3/4" shorter than his waterproof rambo one but definitely wouldn't want it any bigger!

The neck bit only fits if I do it to d-rings, it is too long otherwise and being welsh, he isn't skinny there. That's ok though as I would tend to clip it there when using it on its own anyway.

The only think I have changed is put a strap of material on so I can clip my light on the middle of the tail flap- there is a loop on each side but if you have one light only it tends to pull the whole thing to the side.

muckypony F is chunky 14.2 and in 5'9 rugs (he has one 6' rhino as with a neck cover on he pulls it forwards and his but sticks out in a 5'9) and is in the pony size (can take a pic later if that helps?)

I bought 2 of these and a waterproof one and only 1 of the 3 items were a) the correct size and b) what I'd actually ordered. They've been very very slow at sorting the issue and have told me to send the items back at my own cost; even though it's their mistake.
I have the cob size for my 6'3 Section D and the neck piece is far too long - I've had to tie knots in it to shorten it. Not massively impressed.

I guess for £15 I wasn't overly fussed about the length of the neck piece being long (which I had read elsewhere) and would have been happy to get my needle and thread out on it if the sheet was fine. As it is on the saddle D-s it fits perfectly and that works better anyway as I don't have to have the sheet on to use it.

My friend and I bought one winter weight each (separately) for a 16.3 ID x and a 17hh Shire x Welsh x TB and both bought the XL. They both say XL but my friend's is massive compared to mine - about a foot deeper each side, and about 8" longer along the back and the bit that goes across the chest is ENORMOUS. We're not sure which is the true XL size. Mine fits my short coupled boy quite well but is a little snug on his very ample chest. It's a little tight all over but passable on my friend's longer boy but the other one is HUGE - reaches down past his hocks and he would be in danger of tripping over the chest piece if he were to wear it! Unfortunately she bought it in a closing down sale in the summer ready for the winter and the shop is no longer there to take it back.

Yes our yard all do and they are brilliant you get orange yellow pink

the mare on the right in this is 14.2 and the cob one is now too short on her so they are buying full

I think what they sent me was barely worth 15 quid. It fell to bits on the first wear. Odd sizing, I got a full for my 6ft6 rug wearer and it was a very odd shape on her, material is VERY thin the fillet string is very low (actually string is an exaggeration it's more like a scrap of cotton). It states you can use them without a saddle, I added a surcingle and it got so wet and it's so flimsy that it slid off sideways and she stood on it. Spend another 20 quid and get something better, I think Rambos are 33 in some of the sales. You won't beat that quality especially with those rugs.

yours was the w/proof not the mesh one though FW? I have to say I haven't seen the dense tabard-type mesh used for them elsewhere. (I didn't get a fillet string with my polite mesh one).

Have they got back to you? It makes you wonder if they had a known issues with the pink w/proof ones as they were sig cheaper than the yellow or orange fo the same and 2 others on the yard have the yellow ones the same as yours without issue. One an arab , one a dales pony.

No I haven't got round to doing anything about it. Waiting in for my treadmill to probably not be delivered tomorrow so will go to task on it tomorrow.

We do ride in extreme weather but it was highly disappointing.

Can't comment on the rugs but had poor quality from all my equisafety stuff

Hat band-flourescent layering stuff cracked before i even put it on the hat meaning flakes of pink falling off just leaving white bits
Martingale- same as above but when I shortened it, also the bit going between their legs is ridiculously long so have to wrap round girth which made mare uncomfortable so stopped wearing it
Tabard- zip ripped off edge when I unzipped it, still wearable but poor quality product

I still wear the hat band and tabard but think I will invest in others, don't ride on the road at all except crossing one but understand benefits re dog walkers seeing you earlier, emergency services etc etc so wouldn't go out without them!!

i bought one of the pink waterproof ones in the sale last week. Going by their sizing i ordered an extra full size for my gelding, as although he is 16.1 he is long backed and often full size things dont fit. It arrived the other day and I tried it on him and although the length isnt too bad it is SO deep it looks rediculous, it's halfway to the floor. I have ordered a full size one too to see if that is a better size.

Exactly what I found too with the full size. Very odd shape.

In fact you can tell from HGA's photo that the shape I've been sent is totally different.

I ordered the polite yellow waterproof one in the sale just before christmas, it was £18 I think. Now it's here and we've tried it on I agree that the chest bit only fits mine when attached to the d rings. However I think it's fab! Ever so bright and the pony size fits my 14.2 pony who is quite streamlined and wears 5'9 rugs. For the price I paid I'm very happy. We have pink hi vis for the summer and I prefer this yellow sheet to my pink mesh one from v bandz.

One thing I noted though was that the chest bit is not the polite one like in the picture it is the ordinary yellow one that comes with the normal yellow sheet. We'll see how it all lasts!

I have that same rug in both the mesh and the waterproof fleece lined. They both fit the same as each other, and the cob size fits my 16h WB (6'3" rugs) nicely, although I am not convinced it would be big enough for a 6'6" horse as their website suggests. The saddle hole isn't the longest, and it does sit just under the panels of the saddle at the back.
From the other posts it seems I may have been lucky to get two properly sized rugs, but I am really pleased with mine.
Don't know if that helps you decide which size to order though!

I'm torn - I really like the polite range and my Aspey Jacket has been fab. However my tabard came apart in the first wash and I had to stitch it back together.

I'll probably stick with their coats but I prefer the V Bandz horse range and they do a mesh quarter sheet:

http://www.v-bandz.co.uk/category-24/MQTR.html

They do but not for £15 ;)
mine is definitely much deeper than the rambo, might try and get a couple of pics in the morning.
I am not a fan of the equisafety stuff much, I don't dig the polite idea but this was too cheap! The light bands I had off them were hopeless, neither lasting the winter compared to the cheaper cycling ones I use now- and they never replied to my email when I told them I was disappointed.

I do have 2 hat bands though (one for bike, one for horse) both still as new and a pair of leg bands as I like them.

This is what happened with my friend's. Hers and mine are allegedly the same size but it's like a full Victorian skirt on her 17hh chunky boy and is hanging down over his tail. Mine is just right on my 16.3 chunky but shorter coupled horse. They were both supposed to be winter weight too, but the lining on my friend's is much thinner so I wonder if it's a summer weight one and they were a bad batch? Hers is yellow though, not pink.

I have the pink waterproof equisafety sheet for my cob mare. She's about 14.1 and takes a 6ft rug. She wears the pony size sheet and I wouldn't want it any bigger as they are very deep so do flap around a bit.
