My pony was on Equisolone ( licensed prednisolone for horses ) for 2 mths to try and reduce any inflammation related to a skull fracture following a rotational fall on the flat. He was on a high dose, on 500mg a day- he weighed less than 400kg. He had no laminitis while on them but did have a bout of colic. They didnt work for my pony and he was put down shortly afterwards. But he had a very serious injury and vets were amazed he had survived the initial fall as he should have died on impact.
