I can get both of these for a reasonable price from my local saddlery. I'm looking for a very absorbent cost effective bedding to just go in a small corner of my stable with rubber mats. I borrowed a friend's bale of Bliss and was very impressed with it but I can't get it locally.

Any thoughts on which would be best for us?

I use Hemcore but as a semi deep litter full bed. It is very absorbant, but I have never used it in the way you want to. Why not call them, and ask whether they think it will be suitable ? (0) 1986-835678

I have used both. This may be peculiar to my mare, but she kept getting pieces of Hemcore in the corners of her eyes. This worried me a lot as those little bits are quite sharp.

Equisorb always reminds me of Ready Brek! It's much softer.

The eye thing is the only thing that put me off Hemcore though.

I think the absorbency is much the same with both. Equisorb smells nicer and is lighter to work with. Hemcore stays put better.
