I rang my supplier today to order some more (haven't needed any for ages as I was horseless for a few weeks) to be told that due to quality and supply problems, and also the fact that the price had gone up, they were not stocking it any more. Has anyone else heard this? They offered Aubiose as an alternative. I was paying £6.50 for Equisorb, the Aubiose is over £9! New horse is filthy in his box, so I'm using 2 Equisorb a week. The so that will be £18 per week just on bedding - too much! Does Aubiose perform better than Equisorb? Any other ideas? Has to be dust free and suitable for manure as that's how we dispose of it.

That does surprise me.... I have the phone number of Belvoir bedding if you want to ring and get it from the 'horses mouth'..... They source the flax from all over France/Belgium/Holland so I don't believe that supply is really an issue.... haven't spoken to them for a few months though.

I ADORE equisorb, its the best bedding EVER!!!

My supplier told me that the company was taken over a few months ago, but the buyer has continued making it and supply should be back to normal now (just a bit more expensive grrr).

The supplier said that there had been a problem with Equisorb, as they had been adding 10% straw to bulk it out, which defeats the object of it for me. How much do you pay for megazorb?

Megazorb is a very different product to equisorb.

I use a megazorb layer on the bootom but i have a full equisorb bed.

I have been using it for about 3 months now and i love it and not had any issues with the supply of it.

I pay 6.89 a bale for it, i havent had any straw in mine either just flax with what i call bunny tails hehe ( bits of flax fluff that roll up )
