Basically because I downloaded the Ellan Whitaker bumf on the poduct, I've autmatically qualified for a free demonstration on on of my horses with no obligation to buy one....hmmm ok, well if its free, then great.

However, how much are they? doesnt say on the website and when talking to one fo the reps she said well it depends on what package you buy (depending on what your horse will benefit from...which is the whole point of the 40 minute demo) but they didnt even want to give me any idea, are they a lot more than the Equillibrium Massage pads? and what are the main differences? She said if I buy on the day of demonstration then they may be able to offer me a good deal...but if there hunderds of pounds then well there is no point her coming out, I don't want to waste her time or mine etc

Anybody got the Equissage? would you rate them?

its ok I've just found out by looking on ebay, £1000!!!

I am wondering the same, I had a phone call yesterday and the same thing was said to me and I quite agreed it they are hundreds and hundreds of pounds then its not worth them coming out.

Yes, it was yesterday when I recived the call, well they left a message and I rang them back today.

I mentioned that you hear alot of feed back from the Equillibrium ones (good feedback) and said that although I've heard of the Equissage, I've never heard much about them (I'm sure there good) but now I know why.....cos the a hell of a lot cheeper!! which is a question I asked but she didnt want to say, I know its free and I'm grateful for the demo but there is really not much point them coming out when I have no intentions of buying one... not at that price, if there were the same as the Equillibrium price, then yes I could be tempted but not at that price.

Well I don't know, I've just seen one on ebay for £1000...well at the quick glance I took, soon as I saw that I spat my tea onto my keyboard and flicked off lol

If you buy the Equissage that straps round the horse and also the hand held one the package is £2,500. They offer interest free payments.

Otherwise I think the hand held one was about £1000.
I know if you buy the both you get a free bag to put it in and save about £200 ( I think)

We had the demo last year and the following day my horse went out and won two classes

Thank you for the feedback

, its good if they offer interest free etc but still, way out of my budget though, I take it you were impressed with the product though and feel that it did help your horse feel and perform better on the day of the competition?

I had the demo a couple of years ago (a friend of mine was an agent) and the difference it made to my horse was tremendous, but the £2k price tag was beyond me

My friend swears her eventer ( who is getting on a bit) would not still be competing without his, but I have heard of a lot of people who buy one and then it just sits in the tackroom gathering dust. I think unless you have a lot of time and/or staff (!) it might be a bit inconvenient to use daily, which is what they recommend.

oh yes I totally agree with you there, the thing is a lot of people swear by the Equilibrium one, someone on our yard has one also and they are very impressed with it, so I've always pondered over getting one of those, I feel it would benefit Mr M especially and Py, so was thinking of getting one either on Christmas time or when its my birthday...you know, when you have that little bit extra money to splash on these kinda things.

Thing is it would be used because I'm down at the yard for a few hours every evening and most of the day during the weekends so it would get used to its full potential but if you can buy something equally as good at a fraction of the cost then there is no point this lady coming, sure it will be interesting and no doubt I will be very impressed but its not something I can afford right now.

We used to use equissage, but have moved on to the rug that massages and has magnets all in one [keeps our eventers going!!], so we would sell our equissage if anybody wants it?

Hmmm no wonder they would not talk prices last night with us. Also I thought it sounded like pressure sales already when she was telling my husband that everyone involved in decision making needed to be there at the appointment.

yes! she asked me that, I didnt get why she was asking this, I said nobody else makes decission about what I buy for my horses so nobody else needs to be present, then after finding out how much they are, then the penny dropped!

How much would you be willing to part with it for? (PM is you wish) however if its going cheap don't bother Pming...you may get a sale

I bought one a few years ago for my daughter's sway-backed cob and it really did seem to help him jump, as he needed so much time to warm up, but I'm afraid I am one of those who now leaves it in the tack room. We had a really nice girl demonstrate, and when I got keen all my friends persuaded me that if I bought it, they would hire it off me so it seemed like quite a good deal. And did they? Did they hell!

I might get it out tonight and use it, as I am feeling very guilty

From what I know of the Equissage machine its very big and heavy and I certainly wouldnt want to put it on a horse with a bad back, the Equilibrium one is a lot lighter. However, would it not be more beneficial to have a hand held massager so you can target the specific muscular site you need to? Just a thought....?

Heavy, really? I didn't know that, well I know there is some weight in them but didnt think they would be heavy on a horses even with a bad back, hmmm interesting thought though.

I think the glory of them is you can bob them on while your horse is in the stable and leave them on (while your about) but doing your jobs etc so you can leave them stood for 10 -20 minutes or however long sessions are required, I do have a hand held one but I think you have to be more careful with those just in case you have the opposite effect, I can only presume there is less chance of causing any problems with the massage packs you can buy, otherwise they wouldn't sell them? duno really, I'll have a word with the my back person and see what she thinks.

My horse is having his Equissage at the mo!!

I really wouldnt be with out my kit, expensive yes but it's been well used.
I dont find the back pad heavy at all, i can lift it with one hand eaily off an 18hh horse. Ive used it on loads of horses & never had a problem or had anyone comment on it being heavy.

It's also mega hard wearing as i have ended up bashing mine a bit accidentally

& it's still as good as the day i bought it.

I bought an Equissage about 4 years ago as my chap was having constant back strains. Worked wonders on him but then had to sell it as I needed to pay for a vet bill so I then bought the Equillibrium pad. To be honest I think the Equillibrium pad is much better - well our results have got better and we have gone from doing OK novice dressage to Advanced Medium in six months.... The pad is much easier to carry around and take to shows and the battery lasts a lot longer and it's much cheaper!

I think I was £2300 for the Equissage pad and the hand held unit and the Equilibrium pad was less than £180. Personally I'd save your money and buy an Equillibrium.

I used to have a equissage and whilst the horses liked it I didnt notice huge improvements in their way of going etc. I had better results using a magnetic rug so sold the equissage. I now have the equilibrium pad and imo think it is very effective at a fraction of the price, it is also lighter (not that either are desperately heavy). I got mine when there was the special offer including the magnetic pad too. I now use the equilibrium and magnets (both the equlibrium magnets and ones stitched in rugs) and on one particular horse can feel a big difference.

If you have a demo of the equissage be prepared for a hard sell.

Thank you everyone for your feed back, I shall be canceling the demo, there is just simply is no point, however I'm very tempted to the get the Equillibrium one, always heard good feed back and its good to hear even more and yes a fraction of the price.

Now where did I put my Santa list.....
grin.gif

I have an equissage and it is great, but I find it a faff to have to put it on the horse before work and hang around waiting for it to happen.

I now use the back on track rugs on the horses and save the equissage for show days or if I have a specific problem.

However they are very durable as my horse has regularly rolled in it and it still works.

After having worked for the company i can safely say they are a complete waste of money and over hyped bull ****. They cost them about £300 to manufacture and then sell for 2k, treat their sales employees terribly and make a hell of a lot of false claims regarding what the oversized vibrator can actually do. In some cases yes, a massage machine will make an improvement, but save your money and buy an equilibrium one. I have no idea how they can justify the price tag, as its actually a very simple device, but the sales pitch is very clever. I can give you examples of how the machine in the pitch is made to look much better than it is and I partly left the company as felt that outright lie telling every day just wasn't my bag. Equissage CAN help with a cold backed horse, azatoria, lymphangitus and muscle tention. It CAN NOT cure colic, puss in the foot, COPD etc. as they will try and have you believe.
