Equissage

it's not really a study though, is it? it's a reason to come to your yard, demo it on your horse, and then give a ridiculously hard sell. (which i have had already.)
i think they are horribly overpriced for what they are. (and i had one all last year, it came with a horse i had to event, so i have had a good trial!) tbh i prefer the Equilibrium, horses seem to prefer it and it's 1/5 the price!

We have had the hard sell at our yard, and the demo was on my horse............ after all its ONLY £1200 etc etc

My horse loved it (retired with KS & N at the time) - TBH if i had the readies i would have bought it. His legs didnt fill for 5 days (normally like balloons over the night), he seemed less stiff etc. I would highly recommend it, although i doubt i could ever justify the cost (& now just owning a young horse it would just be for the sake of it really). I might try the equilibruim one that kerilli has suggested though.

We have one that the Y.O has and she charges us to use it. It is very effective and my horse loved it. However I think I would be very hard pushed to spend the money myself.

I think I am going to have a dem, I spoke to a friend yesterday and she brought her Equissage set for £15 per week over 36 months (that sounds a lot more affordable for me!!!)

Just a note about Equilibrium, I was so dissopointed with mine. I have had 2 pads now, the first one broke and it had to be replaced. I find it really slips, I used to leave my horse tied up with it on, and after 10mins it would just slip. I ended up getting rid of mine after I spoke to the physio who treats my horses and she told me not to use one as all the machine does is use percussive vibraion on the horses muscles in the back. Apperently it is not adviseable to use percussive vibration on use muscles as it can cause a lot of damage.

Also I was at Burghley last year ( I brought my pad from Badminton) and I was talking to the Equilibrium rep, she was telling me about the supposed increase in stride length which they quote on their marketing, well the study is not even published, and they rep told me that they commissioned the study themselves. It is supprising what results you get when you carry out the study yourselves!!!
