equissage?

i have an equissage machine and also have the hand unit...really pleased with it but the hand unit has stopped working twice (only got it in june). first time i sent it back to the manufacturers and they said they 'cleaned it, no fault found'and returned it- was working again. but then tonight its not working again

now it did occur to me that horse hair might be getting into the little holes- but i've not heard of other equissage users having this problem....anyone had similar issues?

When I got mine the rep told me to vacuum mine once a week if i was using it everyday (handheld is on about an hour a day and pad another hour or so) She also said very little ever goes wrong with them other than them getting clogged with dust and hair!

Was just looking at it today thinking it needed doing (got it in May and haven't done it yet!!)(although i use it in the boot on their legs rather than over the body which i could see clogging it up quite easily!)

see they didn't tell me that but that makes sense....might try hoovering mine before i send it back then....i suppose i could put it in a sock or something for when i use it on the horses? would that work to keep it free of dust?

would have thought putting a sock on it would make it over heat (maybe tights?!!) If you think of them like you would clippers you would think it completely logical they would need the filter cleaning regularly!! Fingers crossed the hoover does the trick!

Ive had my Equissage set nearly 2 years now & i will admit i have never cleaned the hand unit. Apart from the outsides that get coat grease.
It has never been mentioned to me to hoover the hand unit to remove hairs.

Never had a problem, touch wood with either the pad or hand unit. Despite both being handled roughly at times

From what your describing i would say that it's possibly a cable fault with your hand unit Diggerbez, but you never know.

well would like to report that i saw equissage at HOYS today and mentioned this to them...and they said that it shouldn't be happening and that they will swap my hand unit for me- they took my details and emailed them off to the office- well someone rang me later on and they have arranged to swap the unit- said it will be monday. am VERY pleased with the customer service!
