Around the beginning of September I put my 5 year old mare on 2 scoops a day of Equitop Myoplast. Cut it down to 1 scoop for second month. Without a doubt can see improvement in muscle. However, in second month also saw subtle changes in her ridden behaviour. Could be for any number of reasons, particularly at her age, but as it coincided with the Equitop just wondered if there could be a connection. Anyone got any experience of this supplement?

Started with feeling a slight resistance in her flatwork. Not as willing to work nice and soft and supple. Has gradually escalated to the point where she gets herself in a right tizzy when asked to work in an outline. Either very reluctant to go forwards or trying to jump about like an idiot. Not normal behaviour for her at all. Teeth and tack checked recently. Been seen by physio and she has a slightly strained muscle over her offside quarters but I get the impression her behaviour is more mental than physical. As I said at her age it could be any number of things. It just goes through my mind that if a product (albeit a natural one) can have such a dramatic physical effect what other effect could it have.

Oops, didn't see your reply sorry :p

I didn't experience any of those effects when I used the product... horse was a bit fizzy for the first few days, but that was it. I only had one tub of it though. Could just be going through the stroppy phase? Particularly if she's put on a lot of muscle and is feeling stronger in herself - testing you out more, perhaps?
