Equitop Myoplast..

Yes my horse has been on it since just before Xmas, from the vet. Physio took great pains to point out to me that it won't do anything unless it's combined with the right work so my horse has to lunge (in a Kavalkade but guess you could use a Pessoa or similar, if you like those... I don't), long rein, do lots of pole work and be ridden only in an outline / correctly (not slopping along on buckle end) all of the time.

It is helping. He developed a huge backside quite quickly, neck also improved fast and topline over his back is slowly getting there.

Crikey that's expensive and not much actual active for your money! I'd be trying good quality forage supplemented with lysine and a good exercise programme before chucking money at that!

My insurance is covering it as getting it from the vet! But she is in good shape but has been off work and was lame behind so seriously lacking in muscle over her back end. :)

My boss has all 3 of her working horses on it, 2 of them are working Medium and Advanced Med, and the youngster came to us very poor with no muscle, he is now working prelim/novice. Its fantastic stuff, but must be used in conjunction with a correct workload or you are just tearing up £50 notes!!
We also find that when they 1st go on it, horses can get a little wizzy, but when they are worked this settles. X

My holistic and conventional vet and physio were all rather against Equitop M. Perhaps that is due to the way it works - I am unsure.
Personally I think it probably has it's place for rehab of a horse. My horse has chronic sacro illiac dysfunction and he was walked inhand in a pessoa (long lined actually ) for around 5 months last summer. I put him on Feedmark's Opti Muscle - just to ensure he was getting all the nutrients he needed to build muscle.

He gained 4cm of gluteus muscle on his affected side in that time which the physio was very impressed with.

Yes, it's made mine quite wizzy but that didn't happen until he'd finished the first tub so am not sure whether he's wizzy now because he's feeling so much better. He is definitely a lot more forward, supple and generally softer. It isn't a miracle but I do think it's helped, along with adjusting my horse's work to include much more lunging/long reining.

Hugely over priced considering most of it is sugar and the other 40% is seaweed!

like Ali2 says Id go with forage & lysine.

I used 2 tubs on a horse that had muscle atrophy on one side of his back and it did absolutely zilch! He was being exercised quite intensely on the lunge as well. I tried cavalor muscle force which did seem to work but by then we were also doing daily tens sessions so difficult to say if the supplement helped.
