Has anyone tried those non-tip feed buckets? (The ones that look like a huge dog bowl).
I've started my horse on Equitop Pronutrin (Finished Gastroguard for ulcers last week). He doesn't seem that keen on it though- it does have a funny smell to it so I imagine it'll take some getting used to. He lives out and never used to get any 'feed' as such. Just lo-cal balancer and hay. Seems quite pleased when I appear with feed bucket (Just a couple of handfuls of hi-fi lite with Pronutrin mixed in) and gets tucked in until he gets down to the bottom and it's only Pronutrin pellets left. Then has a strop and tips over bucket. Am finding myself crawling around, trying to scoop it back up to make sure he gets it!! Tried putting bucket into tyre but he managed to get hold of rubber handle bit and throw it out so tried cutting off handles. He managed to turn entire tyre and bucket upside down!
When I mix the final few pellets with another half handful of chaff, he'll eat it. Just want to find a way to stop him throwing it around the field! Any ideas? I suppose I could always just stand and hold the bucket for him while he eats it which is what I'm going to have to do tonight!
