hi i have a 7year old mare who i think would really benefit from lunging to build muscle and get her working correctly- i know alot of people would say to do this i should get a good instructor and work hard on legs/seat aids etc- but unfortunatly i dont have that time/money/facilities at the moment to make it effective!
She was broken in very very rushed and never has really been taught how to use herself properly so i was looking into buying a lunging training aid to help-
I was looking at all types i.e the pessoa (much too expensive), john whitaker, derby house, etc.. when i found this on ebay for a good price and a roller included! (i dont have one)...

the 'Equitrainer'. at first i got confused with the 'equibalancer' which i'd heard works very well and just like the pessoa, so i was about to order it but then i realised it was different- so i wondered if anybody has had experience with this training system and for anybody that can tell, see if it works well (ive heard some don't actually lower the head that well).

Always a bit cautious buying things when i can't find reviews and they are an unknown brand :)

thankyou -

as far a I can see it looks like its the same as the pessoa idea

if your horse hasn't worked in an outline before be careful to build this work up gradually as she will be using different muscles and if you ask her to do it all at once she will just get stiff and sore and not want to do it

set it up on the easiest setting following the instructions and gradually increase the length of time and the setup so she begins to work harder, if she looks like she is struggling or starts resisting then you need to go back a step and stay there for longer before progressing again
