Equitrek Super Sonic Horsebox who owns one?

Anyone have one of these?

I know people have mixed feelings over Equitrek, and I have read up on the historic threads!

I would really like to hear from people who actually own one, as I would like to know how the living area works for them and whether or not they think some of the added extras are worth it or not!

I did not realise until now that these are a LGV C1 vehicle !!

I hope nobody has been caught out thinking they were a 3.5 tonne B cat vehicle !

I've got an Equi Trek Victory which is like a Sonic. As Rog says, don't be fooled into thinking the Sonic will go through a MOT, as a LGV it needs to be plated - which is not such a rigorous test as the MOT, just more expensive. Also there is the question of license entitlement - do check you can drive one.

That said, I just love my Victory, it's well made, easy to drive and the horses load & travel really well.

I already realised it would be classed as a LGV as it would be 4500 if you used the full load.

Mum can drive it for now and I am looking at taking my HGV test asap aswell so we should be fine :)

4500 - the one I looked at on the site said 4000 ??

When you pass your D4 medical - any doctor can do it so NEVER pay more than around £50 - google LGV medicals - fill in your D2 form ticking categories C & D only and then receive your provisional licence back from DVLA your mum cannot be a supervising driver UNLESS she has actually passed the LGV DSA test that covers C1

Those with only the free pre 1997 C1s cannot be supervising drivers
 
Thanks for the info Rog, have read up on your posts on this previously, so know the ins and outs! Hopefully I will be taking it with Data Academy in Leicester when I get round to booking it which is the company I did my trailer test with so I know they are gooduns!

I think the Super Sonic basic is 4000 but you can upgrade it to 4500. Not 100% as the brochure is at home, but I think that's what it said :)
