Ok so ive decided to sell my 3.5ton lorry (as it keeps going wrong) and get a 4x4 and a trailer

Was looking at the equitrek Show it has everything my lorry has and more (bunk beds !!!)

So what do people think of them does anyone have one??? and what do you pull it with

We have a Kia Sorrento as it won the JD Power best towing vehicle a few years running and it pulls like a dream.

We have the Space Trekka L and it is lovely. Some people complain of build quality being poor, but all trailers have pitfalls and, tbh, you only hear about the bad ones.

Mine has been great in the 2 years I have owned it from new, and is wonderful to tow, lovely and airy/spacious inside, and has helped us combat a loading problem with our 17.3hh horse!

Seconded the Sorrento! Fantastic cars to tow with especially with the weight behind the Show.

The build quality is a bit hit and miss to be honest. And there are some stupid things on some of them (like the small equitrek the door to the tack bit isn't big enough to get dressage saddles through without scratching them!)

But they are good trailers and the horses seem very happy in them!

will proabably get a show treka is the door big enough on that !!!!

I have a Space -Treka which I have owned from new I used to tow with a land rover discovery but now tow with a mitsubishi L200 truck, used to have a lorry and have owned a Batesons.....I wouldn't change my equi-trek it is great to tow very smooth and no rattles etc. if I stayed away a lot then i would change to a show treka, i tow a 15.1 cob and a 16.3 warmblood no problems whatsoever.

thank you im feeling my decision is getting easier of what to do

Toyota Landcruiser Prado 3.0 Td 4wd Auto, its a Japanese import. Not a pretty vehicle but does the job well.

Both my horse and I love my Space Trekka L, the door/dressage saddle problem has been mentioned. My only other concern is the ventilation in the horse area, personally think its poor in warm weather and I have extra ventilation installed in the roof and only travel one horse (the vehicle will tow two just as well). Guess being white it reflects heat but not sure how much air moves around whilst on the move. I don't travel too far afield so it hasn't proved too much of a problem.

I have the tack locker installed (near side). Pleased I didn't have whatever locker it is installed off side as well as it wouldn't leave a lot of room for tacking up, etc etc.

My friend tows her Space Trekker M (pretty sure it's the M not L) with a Toyota Landcruiser. It tows it beautifully, as you can imagine the EquiTreks are bit bigger and heavier than your average trailer and need a bit of a beast to pull some of the larger ones! It's a lovely trailer, the horse loves it (used to load after a long argument, but loads in his EquiTrek first time) and I am very envious

Ditto the dressage saddle comment, especially if you have larger knee blocks - there is an art to it!

There are any number of extras you can have when you order new. I opted for what they called the tack locker which is fitted under the horses head on the near side (in my case). This makes it difficult to get in beside the horse unless you move the partition (this is easily done with one horse on board, lots of partition adjustment holes along the breast bar). If one had a locker installed on both sides you are only left with a very small amount of standing room by the rear door with two horses loaded (if using the head separator panel not sure where you stand?).

I found the locker inconvenient (dressage saddle didn't fit in too well especially plus jumping saddle) and now have the saddle racks in the 'living' (not converted more like storage/changing area). I use the locker for rug storage, but they have to be wrapped as not completely waterproof as I discovered.

Hope this is reasonably clear?! And its helpful.

Forgot to add about the ventilation aswell - YO has had a air con unit put in hers. But I still found it really warm when I took it on the boat a while ago (more the boat being enclosed I think rather than the trailer that way). So yes extra ventilation is a must!
