Anyone thinking of buying an Equitrek - DONT!!!!!

You will be totally disappointend and Equitrek will NOT help you

DONT BUY ONE - Please post if you agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Door to gas bottle compartment won't shut - previously "fixed"
Front large window leaking
Vent in living accommodation leaking - previously "fixed"
Cupboard above toilet door won't open
Door into living leaking - previously "fixed"
Design fault in rear storage compartment in that a guest of window blew it open and into the ramp fixings creating a hole right through the door
Paint work extremely badly chipped all over - especially the front of the trailer
Storage compartment on oposite side of the ramp leaks so when the horse urinates everything gets soaked
Saddle rack in storage compartment so flimsey it bent within first few times of saddle being placed on it
Electrics don't work - previously "fixed" but always fail. New battery fitted, car electrics checked. Even if you charge the battery to full they will alway run down even if I haven't used them
Internal lights in horse section don't work even with fully charged battery - previously "fixed"

paid £17,000 for it and have watched it fall apart every time I take it out. Such a shame because it could be fantastic

You are very lucky!! Met a lovely lady at the dealers yesterday and has had no end of problems too and also saw some trailers in for repair in the yard that had the same problems.
I hope you continue to be pleased with yours

A friend was looking at one she is now thinking a lorry would be cheaper and more practical... Personaly they seem neither fish nor fowl, not much living and not cheap! for 17k + buying and running a big tow vehicle you can get a great lorry or a normal trailer and a camper van...

The idea of the trailer is brilliant - lots of storage space, horses travel much better in it, tows really nicely. But it's just not made well and the customer service is not good. My trailer has gone in this week for repair having been waiting since August for the part!

No problems with mine either, 2 1/2 years old, have used it 2/3 times per week & travelled thousands of miles with no problems at all.

ive known 3 trailers tip up - very easily!!! , and one horse that went through a 3.5t equi trek floor!!!

i also know one girl who had used theres once, went to lock the door and the key snapped in the lock. they were told this wasnt covered and they could buy a new lock!

After all the issues I had with my brand new 511 ( the list is endless but includes it regularly coming unhitched when I first pulled away ) I LOVE the EquiTrek I traded it in for :D
