Im downgrading from a lorry to a trailer and although I prefer the build quality of the Ifor, the concept of the Equitrek Show Treka suits me better. I remember a while back people having awful trouble with their Axels and just wondered if anyone knew which years were affected as I am looking to buy 2nd hand. I remember being told years ago by a dealership that the older Day Treka were built better than the then newer shaped ones which then turned out to have axel issues, so I want to avoid these if poss.
Sods law Ive just seen a fab Day Treka but its the other end of the country :(
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have a show treks M, it's the L (slightly bigger) that had the recall. When you find one to Mike you can call with the number and see if it's one that should have the replacement and if it's had it. However mine did need a new front axel at 7 yrs old. Cost me about £300 so be prepared to need one. As a trailer it suits us well, we use the living most weekends in spring and summer.

I have recently sold my equitrek show treka m, as I brought a 7.5t lorry.
I also brought an ifor 510 for my daughter as her car won't tow an equitrek with 2 horses.
While I hate towing with a passion, the equitrek towed brilliantly, much better than the ifor, and the horses always travelled well.
Mine was a newer one, so no chassis issues and if I have to return to towing, I would have another one.

Awww thanks for replying. Ive had Ifors before and a Richardson which towed much better than the Ifors. How old was yours please Spottyappy? Im happy to buy relatively new, just like to avoid the ones that had issues really.
And thankyou LovesCobsmas, it never crossed my mind to ring Equitrek with the serial number.
