As the post says - what are Equitreks like to tow? (Both for the driver and for the horse?)
I've always thought that they looked rather tall and unbalanced (they seem to sway about if you are following one down the road for instance)

However, I've never used one so I have no idea what they are like?
Anyone got any experience of them?
Thanks

That's what it looks like when you see them being towed...

you obviously havent got your tyre pressures correct or your tow vehicle must be wrong.
We have one of the bigger ones and it tows lovely.

There have been a few posts like this, and it is personal opinion. I have an Equitrek and would recommend to anyone. I tow with a fourtrak. I used to have an Ifor, that the horse hated and he never travelled well.
I also have trailer vision-the cctv in the trailer (again recommend everyone has it). He never moves in the equitrek, where as in the ifor he was always swaying and had each leg stuck out for balance and was also bothered by traffic behind him. I find he now loads better, is happier on arrival and will go back when required (he wouldnt in ifor). Towing, for a large trailer I dont notice it behind me! Even with 2 large chaps in.
It is well balanced and never gets buffed by the wind(been over the Humber bridge unladen). I love mine and also have never had anything drop off etc, it still looks like new and holds value. I use it when going hunting/shows and I am alone, and it reverses like it is reading my mind, got it out of muddy fields and packed pub carparks, no help required!

i am the worlds biggest equitrek critic (do a search for posts about them for full information

) but i have to say that apart from the time when my wheel fell off (

) it tows brilliantly and my horses really like it. doesn't sway even when windy or unloaded.

I think my equitrek is the best thing since sliced bread! no wibble, snaking, even on high overpasses or twisty downhill stretches. Hatehate towing anything else. ugh ifor shudders

Kate. i love my Equitrek (star trekka) and the girls love it. had no problems with either of my mares that had trravelling issues. They now load themselves. I tow mine with a LR defender and i hardly know its on the back its so smooth, no wobbling, snaking or anything.
you are more than welcome to come and see whats its like to tow if youd like.

great to tow only thing i would say is that they arent very aerodynamically designed at the front so if driving into a headwind will use more fuel!!

They look really heavy...ie you'd need a mammoth tow car. What kind of weight are they?

I saw one behind a Santa Fe the other day (similar size/weight I'd guess to a Nissan X-Trail). Looked massive behind that vehicle and I wouldn't have thought they had a high tow capacity.

They look very swish.....but they're so dear! Too dear for paupers like me.
