Anyone ever used? I`m toying with the idea of a equitrek as my ifor is gettin old now. But would be too heavy to turn on the drive and we have to do this to store

So then wondered if a motor mover type device would work to shunt it around?

thanks

do you mean like they fit to caravans? got one on our van and it's bloody brilliant!! makes life so much easier and it's rather fun having a remote control caravan:)

The mover manufacturers will tell you that it won't work. Probably because the horse fraternity haven't really started asking about them yet. I only know this because we got one for our Equitrek but never fitted it (still in the box) this was because I was concerned by the extra weight of the mover impacting on the weight allowance on the trailer.. They are very heavy (or at least the one we got was). I think you have to have one each side as well although I could have dreamed that. Finally we decided not to go with it and have managed. I'd be interested to see how you get on if you decide to do it. Oh and expensive as well. About £1000. Good luck.

mine is an old 4 berth bailey caravan so not light at all, especially when laden! it is only a single axle though although if it was built now it would probably be twin axle. you'd have to have a twin axle one on a trailer which would be more expensive, our single cost £600 and that was a reconditioned one from powrmover including fitting at our house. one thing i can't see is how you would power it on a trailer:confused: the caravan ones are powered from the battery in the van.

You'd need two for a double axle trailer, and a leisure battery. My parents have one on their caravan and it's pretty good. Obviously only suitable for an empty trailer like you say. Someone who lives in their street has one and uses it to get the caravan onto a very steep drive so the right one would probably do it ok on a trailer on a fairly level drive.

We once found it lacking and hardly able to move the caravan on a slight slope. My Dad was having kittens and we were helping it shove it round....til I went to the front and noticed he had left the handbrake on
