does anyone know if these guys are out of business? i paid a deposit for a riding holiday in guatemala last summer. Holiday cancelled and haven't been able to successfully contact anyone by email or phone. I assume the worst but can't find their name in the list of companies in liquidation at companies house.
 
Not sure, i booked and paid for a riding holiday in Portugal last Septemeber with friends, had no problems had a fab holiday, so they may have had issues since then? i can try and find the agents contact details we used if you like?
 
Equus Trails is definitely IN business.

Louise, I am sorry that there has been some confusion with your booking. Yes the holiday was canceled due to lack of numbers and we were working on confirming your chosen ride for this year. We did exchange several emails together with this.

When we received your request for the return of deposit we asked you to provide us with your bank details so that we could make an immediate transfer to your bank. To date we haven't received those details.

Once we receive your bank details we will make an immediate return of your deposit. Please send your details to hello@equustrails.com

I am sorry that this confusion has arisen... Please be assured that Equus Trails is very much in business and growing!
 
Interestingly 10 months later I have had no further contact with Equus Trails and have discovered that their parent company (Hidden Trails) was struck off and dissolved in march 2012. Nigel Thomas was the registered director. The reply from them was after this date and I had hoped that there were new owners. Equus Trails are not registered at Companies House. The website is dated 2011 and the company address is as it was prior to dissolution.

Unless anyone can tell me otherwise I think they are no more - sadly :(
