It’s very scary how quickly this last year has passed!

Mad how much he’s changed, he’s still very much a puppy in his brain, which is fairly small in comparison to his 29.5kg body 😂

A very sweet, kind, gentle boy with enthusiasm to burn especially when it comes to anything hunting or retrieving. His enthusiasm is one of the best things about him but will be my biggest training challenge 😂

How is his gundog training coming along?

Ps. Was delighted to see the results of the HPR Champs!!

So was I!!! Awesome to have another GLP Champ and greatly deserved 😁 grand sire to your potential addition too ❤️

He’s doing ok! He is handicapped in that I’m far less experienced than my husband, and he’s my project so things will be slower than they were with Ivy.

He has no lack of drive 😂 adores his retrieving and in the small amount of hunting we’ve done he shown a real natural pattern and aptitude. It’s just upto me to harness it all into a neater package without killing his spark!

He’s very keen to learn but it can take a little while to sink in. He’s still very puppy-like so I’m hoping it all pulls together a bit as he matures.

He came out to watch on a driven day a couple of weeks ago- I had him walking at heel whilst I was flanking so he could see all the excitement but none of it involved him. He coped really well. I’ll do the same a few more times this season.

I’m really enjoying him despite the challenges, our dogs are real members of the family too so he gets dragged into all sorts of places and situations and he just goes with the flow. I can’t fault his temperament in any way.

He is stunning and in such wonderful condition. I met the current HPR champ out for a walk last week. 😄.
I see the same breeding lines supplied the Irish champ too.
Have loads of fun with him.

Being technical, they supplied an Irish Field Trial Champion....we don't have a HPR Championship over here due to a lack of qualified dogs, it's why you see so many Irish dogs trying to qualify for the UK HPR Championship in Northern Ireland at UK KC run trials

Erik is looking lovely - hopefully see you at Crufts this year Elliebeast!

Thanks so much everyone 😊❤️ he’s starting to really grow into himself now. Such a soft, sweet lad with a real eagerness to please.

A HUGE hunting drive, that will be my biggest challenge to harness but we will get there. He’s 30kg of giant puppy still and will take quite a while for his brain to catch up with his body 😂

The Caldera massive have certainly been making their mark this year 😊 lovely dogs!

Thankyou, I’m really enjoying him! Definitely hope to catch you this year! We’re showing on the Friday and my OH will be on the Discover dogs stand with Ivy then we’ll both be on the stand on Saturday.

Good luck with your lot! How many are you taking this year? Entries close tonight!

Four this year. Anyone who wants to say Hi we usually have the estate name signs up above the benches and we're the only full spaniel team! We have 3 entered in the breed ring alos this year so probably quite hectic
