Escalade this weekend in Geneva

If anyone's in Geneva this weekend, come and see the Escalade fesitivites on Saturday and Sunday afternoon in the old town.

Lots of riders, horses (& other participants & animals) in costume from the time of 1602 when the Savoyard tried to take the city. The old town lights are extinguished during Sunday's event to make it more dramatic for the torchlit procession.

As there's no snow yet on the slopes around here for skiing, you might as well come & enjoy yourself in the old town with a few glasses of vin chaud

Look out for TrecPeter & James - you'll spot us by our red noses

Oh ooh - the grotty weather has just reached Geneva - it's just started to bucket down with rain....
Tomorrow I'm collecting James from his field in France to bring him to Geneva (Carnet AT required....)
I expect he will be a dirty mud ball with this rain
