Sorry for the list! Pm me if prefered :D

I'm on the look out for a new farrier. Phil is barefoot and stabled on Canvey; the tricky part is that it will only be the one horse being trimmed :o

Depends how much you want to pay, I only know John Norton and he charged me £35 for a trim as it was only one horse. My own farier charges £18 for a trim. He was very nice though and has been about in Essex for donkeys years.

I don't think John Precious is still working but I could be wrong :) if so he's very good with nervous but his timekeeping didn't used to be the best....he never minded doing just one trim.

I've also used Dave Seal, he's good but I don't know if he'll just do one trim unless he's already in the area.

Don't know the others. Sorry.

Thank you for the reply, the list is from the Farriers Registration Council so I'm not sure what it was last updated :)

I really hate that I only have the one to do but cannot get everyone on the yard to have theirs done as often as Phil :(

I use a guy called Wesley - not sure if he goes out to Canvey though, i'm in Thurrock, he will call for just one horse as he did for me (although got 2 now) - he is excellent at timekeeping and usually beats me to the yard and is quiet and patient, highly reccomend him, if you want a number i'll p.m. you.

John Norton was my farrier for over 25 years, the only reason he isn't still my farrier is that I have moved to Wales. He's great with the horses, knows his job and an excellent time keeper.

He only ever let me down twice in all the time I had him, once when his father was injured on the call before mine (before the days of mobile phones) and the time he turned over two pages in his diary :)

John is very reliable, a thouroughly nice bloke and likes jam doughnuts.
