My new girl is pretty much ready for some walk and trot tests, but I have no idea what venues/yards round here hold them. I know about the BD affiliated tests but shes never competed before so shes not ready for those yet. Does anyone knowof any of such tests taking place in essex/herts in the next month if so could they pass on any contact/entry details.

Very much appreciated!

Quite a few will offer w&t tests now:
- IBRC as Jo said, at Writtle College
Harolds Park Farm on their unaff days
Wix at their classical dressage comps on ocassional Sundays
Foresters at Woodlands near Epping, they have one on Feb 17th
Brook Farm in Stapleford Abbots has just started offering them and I'm hearing good reports
Ocassionally Norton Heath offer them in special evening classes

I think all of these should have websites if you google them

I'll be doing the IBRC walk/trot test at Writtle on the 24th, nice indoor arena and very friendly bunch

Shadowmonkey, watch out for Trish, she's looking like the one to beat judging by past performances

Writtle College is a good place for these and also, Braintree Riding Club also Run these,( they have a webise if you google them) have a look on Horse dates as well. I will be doing a few of these durning the comming months before introducing canter when we are out..

Harolds Park Farm do a lot of different comps. I will be starting Chancer under the saddle this year and my plan if all goes well is to do the walk and trot in March.

Have you looked on Horse Dates?

thanks twiglet for your confidence in me, but I still suspect there is some beginner's luck going on which will probably wear off by the 24th - besides I will be too busy panic-ing about cantering in the prelim

west essex RC also do walk trot test at woodlands too, but they are a little disorganised and do not have a website. I do have a copy of the events planned and their walk tro test if you want them

You'll be fine! Just hope the rain stops before then so the warm up isn't quite so damp!
