Hello,

I have had a search through old threads but can't seem to see anyone who has asked in my area specifically so any help would be appreciated.

I was living in Essex but moved to Oxfordshire 4 years ago for university. My OH has recently secured a job in Essex so we will be moving back and I need somewhere for my 2 horses. I'm looking for:

DIY livery
School (Indoor pref but outdoor fine)
Daily turnout

In and around Leigh-on-Sea, Southend, Benfleet, Basildon. Ideally I don't want to be travelling more than 15-20mins each way (from Leigh). Would be great if people were relatively friendly too but I know can't always have everything!

Anyone got any ideas for me?

Thank-you. :)

Hi,
I have recently started loaning a horse at Dollymans farm, Rayleigh. (heading towards wickford)
I live in leigh too and first thought it might be too far but its great.

It has a free stable at the moment (i know as a friend went to see it) they are all big stables and most covered barn type, it has a huge school and a smaller sand school, both outside, individual grazing and they turnout 24/7 in the summer with loads of hacking for miles!!

Huge containers for tack/storage, coffe room/toilets etc

It takes me about 10 - 15 mins to get there but it really is a lovely yard!

There's lots of yards around essex but the trick is to find the good ones! There's Jotmans in Benfleet, Longwood EC in Basildon, 2 on canvey Island, Rawreth EC which is toward Rayleigh, I'm about 10-15 mins from Benfleet...i know of many more. Have a google & if you want any advise on any of them PM me..x

Thank-you for taking the time to reply both.

I have never heard of Dollymans; it sounds lovely but I would need 2 stables... Plus the A127 would concern me in rush hour; do you find it pretty busy?

Thanks Ginger Bear. Will do now.
