Essex Police mounted unit need our help

Signed the petition at Ingatestone yesterday. So hope they are not disbanded as they do an amazing job. Lets hope the strength of public feeling is enough to effect a U turn.
 
There is a paper pertition going around essex but cant get an online one. I know there is one in the petrol station in writtle
 
Yesterday I went to Henfest in Roxwell, near Chelmsford. This fun event, with stalls, music, barbecue etc has grown up around re-homing hundreds of ex-battery hens. This year they had the 'Save Essex mounted police' petition there.

The mounted unit HQ is nearby, and the folks behind Hnefest told them about having the petition there. Two officers came along to support the event and say Thank you. To be honest, they don't seem to hold out much hope of the unit being saved though. :(

I told them I was a rider too and that lots of people on H & H were supporting them. They said 'Please say thank you to everyone who has signed the petition' so consider yourselves thanked! :)
