The 20th European Championships of American Quarter Horses are taking place from 15-23 August in Kreuth, Germany. If you want to see Western Riding at its best go online at www.ecqh.eu and watch the online live feed from the championships.

Thanks for this - really want to go to some of the Euro shows, but hoping to go to Oklahoma to the QH world show this year!

Watch out for Brits competing this year:
Annie and Betty Gravett with Hotrods and Harley,
also with their trainer Mary Larcom
Jonathan Vine-Hall with Pyramos
Valerie and Chloe Nalbanthian with Late Nite Invitation and Absolutely Captivating
Jane Wallace (Torsten Haiar) with Make Me Invited

Also the reining will be great to watch with top reining rider, Rudi Kronsteiner (world champion) competing!

Nations Cup this evening on the live stream. This is an event consisting of 4 separate disciplines.
Trail - an obstacle course
Western Pleasure - showing class
Western Horsemanship - pattern class
Reining - pattern class at speed with sliding stops, spinning and fast circles.

For those of you who did not get the opportunity to follow the European Championships on line, the small group of horses and riders who made the long journey to Kreuth, Germany really did the UK proud.

To get to the finals the combinations have to compete in 4 AQHA shows and only a small percentage of the overall entries in each category qualify for the finals. For example their were 34 entries in the Amateur Trail Class, so to even be in the finals is quite an achievement!
