Event Horse Prices >>

nope not in my opinion but check the website and see whos selling it ;)...not that that makes it worth it but may explain the price a little have looked with them before at a diff horse, tried it but concluded ahem *value issues*!

Hmm. Not a great SJer, though - had 4 down in one of the ints.

I've always bought horses from studs, so this is all new to me. Didn't quite realise the cost of a ready made eventer, even a so-so one :p

Silly money in my eyes! I bought a 10 yr old intermediate horse with an immaculate xc record, a slightly dodgy SJ record (has jumped clear at int, but also has had 2/3 down) but very good dressage. I paid 12k.

I don't think you need to break the bank to get a good horse in the current market. Although the good ones move very quickly!! I have similar thoughts on the pricing of horses from this particular vendor :p

it must come with built in sat nav for xc and a cup holder while you just sit there and drink coffee on you round for that money....maybe it also mucks out its own stable too?

Ha ha! I think this is smart marketing!!! :D They probably don't want to sell this horse - yet anyway - and it is a ruse to get you to look at their website!!
All the others on there look cheap - by comparison anyway!!!!;)

Thats Mark Kyle riding so would explain high pricing.... you're paying for the previous but-on-saddle.... ;)

I guess their attitude must be if you don't ask, you don't get! And there are people out there to whom 40k is change in their back pocket!!

Having said that, my chap had been mainly competed by Andrew Nicholson, and then a bit with Daniel Sibley and Lucy Wiegersma. I think it depends on whether they are being sold from a family or a professional yard as money was not the priorty for his previous owners.
