event riders

I think you will get more useful/sensible replies if you give a bit more information: are you expecting rider to pay expenses or will these be met? Horses stay where they are or move to rider's place? What level are horses currently competing? Etc ;) Good luck, I would imagine you will generate plenty of interest!

I am sure you would have plenty of takers. It would be a great opportunity
How about a working pupil that has been attached to another yard?
Your best plan would be to put an advert in H & H - or are there any young riders you have followed on the circuit you'd like to give the chance to?

Congratulations to your daughter too :)

Like TD said do you want the horse to stay at current yard? Do you want the expenses to be paid?

I am sure you will have plenty of interest, will be quite an opportunity for somebody. :)

i wasn't sure whether i could put a lot of detail on here, but here goes, we have 4 advanced, 1 intermediate and a few youngsters. the aim is to have a stable jockey to ride all expenses will be paid, but will also have to muck in with all yard duties. accomodation is provided also. hopefully there is a 2/3* rider out there who would like to ride horses at that level

Wow, what a fantastic opportunity. Best of luck to the jockey and you and your daughter.

:)

Rebecca Crosbie Starling, Charlotte Castle, Alex Postolowsky, Ian Bennett, Wills Oakden, Laura Grace Johnson - Just names I know that may be interested as young eventers competing at that level. Alex is a lovely jockey.

thank you for the names, i do know of those riders, and they are good you're right, i think they already have established owners and yards. I might be naive but i was hoping there might be a talented rider out there who doesn't have the financial backing or the horse power and might appreciate a year on established horses, somebody who is hungry to improve. it sounds like one of Jilly Cooper books ha ha, but it is a serious proposition 5 horses ready to go, there walk work has already been done. Ian Woodhead and Andrew Hamilton are our flat work and sj trainers. Spread the word anyway we would like to get it sorted before the season starts obviously.

what about charlotte cundall??? shes a very good jock! that is a very nice proposition! i'd love to but not even done upto that level!!haha
good luckk!!:)

Yes i know of Charlotte, is she looking for a position? if she is get her to get in touch. We do have a web site, pm me if you want to see it.
i knew H&H forum members would know all sorts of people, thanks everyone
We do have quite good facilities, with a good xc schooling course down the road as well.

I would ring some very notable trainers who travel the country such as Yogi Breisner, Ken Clawson or Caroline Moore. I know people often ring Yogi for advice about placing horses with riders and think he would probably be very well placed to get the right person for you who will make the most of the opportunity or at least pass the message on to the right people.

Yes thank you already contacted Alex Colquhoun, Yogi and Ken know my daughter and her horses so they are our next port of call

Just a thought...
Would you be interested in riders from abroad? I know there are a few up-and coming riders in Aus who becasue it is such a small market here would never get a chance like that but would probably be very willing to move to England for a year for the experience.

OR - I would love to!!! When does the season start...can I learn to ride that well before then? Or would they all like a year at PN/N?
;) :)

We're not biased on nationality! if you know of someone tell them to get in touch. T-h-e-y [the horses] might get a bit confused going back to PN/N haha! nice try!
