Got my saddler coming out in the next couple of weeks to check saddles on a couple of my boys and to find something for my new boy to wear for eventing.

Feeling like I'd like to try something new as I'm finding my Albion really uncomfortable (from my point of view) to event in.

Anyone any recommendations for an event saddle that isn't going to result in me re-mortgaging the house to pay for it?!

I had a dressage and jump saddle made for my mare from The Custom Made English Saddle Co'. They are amazing and very very reasonable. Google it or look on ebay as Matt has a shop on there. I know several people who have them now and all are in love with them, amazign price and such good quality.

i evented in my albion for ages and loved it, was only the fit on the new horse that made me look into new one. All horses for course though

, i loved the big knee roll feeling and found it so comfy. Had to really adjust to the cc feel, felt abit perched on top for awhile. Don't think i could go back now though.

I will second that AutumnRose, Matt at The Cutsom Made English Saddle Co, have a brilliant sadlde made by him a bargin from ebay, then adjusted by Matt for my horse. Was a bit warey of how this would work and my horse had previously had a bad back, before I bought it I hasen to add. I was amazed at the quality of the work and leather, and have the best saddle that I have ever had, which fits my horse and me perfectly. Everyone else who rides in it wants to take it home. Wouldnt buy a sadle from anyone else now.

I had a style saddle for ages which was good but they don't make them anymore. I recently tried many as I was after a new jump saddle, didn't like the albion k2. Did like Jaguar, can't remember which, I found the prestiges very comfey and nice it was a close call bewteen that and the one I chose, a Vega, from the same company as Amerigo without the same pricetag though, I love it.

Yes, I've just traded up my Albion K2 for a close contact saddle - it was ok at first but a bit like riding a bike with stabilizers on! Plus I'm getting old now and having my leg jammed against the knee blocks meant that I was a bit crippled when I got off... Ideal Springbok/Impala are nice, so is the Amerigo Vega.
