The Derby House JUMP/EVENT 17 1/2 M - 5th one down

Depends what sort of saddle you like, for me that seat would be too deep as I like my saddles really flat with minimal knee rolls. Would want to ride on any saddle before committing to having it.

I like my albion K2 jump
big knee/thigh blocks, comfy enough to hack in and reasonably priced.
Ideal also look to do a similar style double flap jump saddle which looks nice.

I personally wouldn't buy an 'own brand' saddle, not because there is necessarily anything wrong with it but more for resale ease/value

The Derby house saddles are nice, and that has got a relatively flat seat. But I think you would be better off trying lots

IMO that is more of a SJing saddle, and I also dont like blocks, prefering shallow seated saddles with minimal knee rolls like the Pessoa's etc....

give me big knee rolls any day, usefull for jamming your knees into when your baby does something naughty or chucks a huge cat jump!

eventers need knell rolls more than sj i guess, im a sj but still wamt decent rolls if im jumping over 1.20

love Albions 5000's.

What width is you horse, I have a mw Olney close contact (look on their site, although they may not now do the as are Derby house) that needs a new home having just bought a WOW, email me, don't trust this site i can never get on.

Another ideal saddle lover here! depending obn the brand that fit your horse-but...

I have the wide seat international event saddle and its just like an arm chair even on my lanky tb. I totally love it to bit and it was made to measure so fit us both like a glove.

I really love my Exselle single flap saddle.
Its around 800 (dont have pound sign) and im really pleased with it. It fits both of mine really well and its very comfortable. Its got a fairly flat seat and the cantle doesnt hit the back of my BP which ive found to be a real pain in the past.

I do like having the single flap mainly because Winston is quite wide to ride so helps me get closer to him, not such a problem with snoop as hes not so big, but it is nice and i feel very comfortable riding either one of them.

Good luck this weekend too

Hows connor doing?

I love my prestige single flap - I have long thighs and am fairly tall at 5'8 and a bit so I cannot ride with big knee rolls at all especially at xc length so Albions are totally out for me. Also now I have gone single flap I do not think I could go back as I love not having the girth beneath my leg. I also find with the flatter seat I have more freedom in the hips.
When looking I also really liked Style, Excelle and the Southern Stars one. I have also heard good things about Black Country saddles.

I've got a falacon hawk event, and its excellent, i can jump upto 4'6" in ease with it, allows you to get in a really good shape over your fences (also v. comfy)

I've got that exact Derby House Jump/Event saddle for my cross country and I love it! It's really comfy and you feel really secure. The seat isn't as deep as it looks on that photo either. I'd go for it!

i love my albion, its a GP one though but has knee rolls and quite a deep seat. there also very comfy, and albion do some really good jumping/event saddles.
