I have had an ideal international event saddle for my mare for the past 7 years. Lovely saddle, very comfy. but unfortunately no longer fits the beast. I would recommend ideal saddles, i dont know anyone who is dissatisfied with one.
 
I have an Ideal International Event and I would not use it for eventing! It is a beautiful comfortable saddle but is quite straight cut, something between a WH and GP but not that good for jumping. I use it for hacking mainly but now have a Albion Kontrol for XC and SJ - lovely secure saddle, was £500 2nd hand and fitted from local master saddler but you can pick them up cheaper.
 
yes iv had an albion (sure it was) offerred for £400 with park x on mine so think will see how it fits

i hate the fact i know nothing about saddle fitting and im petrified of buying of ebay and it not fitting!!
 
Problem with Ebay is that once you add postage and then the cost of getting it fitted it can sometime work out no cheaper than getting a saddler with a decent range of 2nd hand saddles down to fit for you. If it then does not fit you have all the hassle of reselling.
 
I found my international event very comfy for jumping, esp xc - but its all personal preference. I'd suggest you sit in as many as possible to get a fee for what you like.
 
yes i suppose i should but those ones on ebay where just a bit of what i fancy....
i know new an event saddle will be £600-1000+++

so it looked cheep too and has good reviews

may get few saddle fitters out to see what they think but last time i was 14 and just got told "shes a funny shape ill have to make one..."
and £800 later i had a genrral saddle which now im no longer 14 doesnt fir me and anyone else who isnt a size 10 has no chance of getting in it!

and when i think that was 7 years ago and what i could have got for that money think i got ripped off

I have 2 of the Ideal ones i love them so comfy! I love jumping in mine is BSJA in it, lovely knee rolls. I have a 17.5 black M/N avalibe, If any one is looking? bought for a youngster who has now grown out of it. great condition.
