Just seen on bdwp that Cast Away 11 is enterd for the OI with Sharon Hunt. Has be been taken away from piggy? Also seen that hes not listed on her website. Poor piggy as hes such a good prospect for the future.

Also Hope Cove has cone to Jeanette Brakewell. She deserves a good horse and will now have some good 1012 prospects, but I feel sorry for Cutty if hes been sold.

Anyone know anything?
 
Cast Away was being ridden by a PC kid at our Areas, he had to go HC as had previously been competing at too high a level so pretty sure it's right horse, certainly right area for Sharon to get the ride.

He and rider had a scary rotational fall at fence 2 a sloping pallisade so presumably he has gone back to a pro. Air Amb was called, think rider got away with a broken leg.
 
Pretty sure it's the right horse, there were some pretty serious horses ar our PC Area's (Open level). Ex Brit Junior team horses and riders etc and a horse that did the Athens olympics for Brazil.

Cast Away had to go HC, the rule states that horses that are advanced on points and have run OI or above in the last year are not allowed, hence the HC. This makes me think it's the correct cast away. He is the only Cast Away reg so it must be him.
 
The girl who rode Cast Away is a member of my PC, her horse was off as it had studded itself, so they took CA.

She had the roational fall and managed to break her nose and crush one ofher vertebrae so is off for 6 weeks.

Should make a full recovery

which horse was it that went to the olympics? suprised its competed so soon...
and blimey that girl must be so lucky if shes ridden that horse, its pure class! hope she gets better

oops sorry! completely missed that vital word there!
out of interest, just noticed that Malt on the Rocks, who won an OI section at gatcombe today with vittoria pannizon was ridden at wilton by izzy taylor, who did previously ride him before...anyone know whats going on?
oh dear its bad im interested by this kinda stuff

or at least have this bigger interest! lol
 
In case you might still be interested ( I am sure not!) But thought I might as well answer.. Izzy rode Malt on the Rocks a few times first the year I broke my arm, and then the month I was away for the Olympics (the Wilton run you refer to).

cutty gave up the ride on hope cove when she was pregnant as it was leaving legs as far as im aware.
the athens horse belongs to a family we know and was given to them by the owner as they are such a nice family and its soundness didnt stretch to three day events
