Ok so wanting to go to an event yard for work experience?
I know in the mid season they are probably all very busy but does anyone know of any that would allow me to come for work experience over the winter?
thanks

It depends what you mean by an event rider. I went to a professional eventing yard for work experience (high summer,) I learnt loads, but the eventer wasnt a household name or anything! Maybe you should look for a similar type yard.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr madgirl, you have a rather good eventer rather close by

Otherwise why not call Vicky at Wickstead and see if you cannot do something with Paul?

I know someone who is a working pupil for Bill Levett. He is having fantastic time by all accounts and gets plenty of riding. Might b worth seeing if there ar any other vacancies.

As I would only be 16 would I be able to go as a working pupil?#
Is that diferent to work experience?

I used to work with someone from Wickstead! Best thing to do is draft up a letter and send it to people you're interested in working with then follow it up with a phone call a few weeks later. Most yards will take you on, free labour = excellent!!

Yes, I went in June may many years ago to Mary King's yard for 2 weeks, it was brilliant.
She did get extremly booked up in advance, ie years, and thats if she still does it....
