Good night everyone

Walking the xc for munstead this afternoon and unfortunately there is a problem for me.
I had a rotational fall at the second of these palisades:

This one:

Now, I know for a fact that my legs will turn to jelly at this fence and my darling honest mare is probably as worried as I am!
My question is, will I get away with angling the first palisade so I land to the right of the second and do a circle round the PN jump sited nearby? Will it be obvious enough?
The distance between the fence is a very long 1 stride or a short 2, however they are on quite an angle - they are numbered seperately 5&6!
All opinions appreciated!!! Thankyou - especially if you reply before 7am Sun. Morning when i will have left

I would make it plain for the fence judge! Jump fence 5 then shout very loudly 'not presenting' and do your circle before fence 6

The whole reason they are seperately numbered is so that you CAN do a circle between them if you wish

You should be fine, the fence judges will be aware of people taking it individually because of the separate numbers. just make sure it is definately obvious. good luck!

those fences actually ride easier than they look as a direct route...

However, if you dont want to risk it, then you will be fine to jump 5 straight on (maybe slightly to the left, but angling to the right a little if that makes sense??) and then if I were you, circle to the right, and then approach 6 straight on...

You'll be fine - just make sure you dont take a line that looks as though you are presenting at fence 6..

Good, good luck and good vibes to you. No advice - I'm rubbish at jumping. But got a good feeling you will do well. Go for it!

Thanks LPP - don't want my 20pens when I'm going out of my way to avoid just that!
Thanks MM - I'm fairly rubbish too but we can all try

Very good luck tomorrow! As everyone else has said, make it plainly clear to the jump judges that you are not presenting at 6, shout out and make sure you make no attempt to even line up to 6 on the approach to 5, then do your circle and jump 6

5 to 6 do jump very well straight through but as others have said, if in doubt take them separately

and most importantly have loads of fun!!

I know this sounds a bit silly but try to take a few minutes to mentally "practice" the exact line you're going to take and "see" yourself jumping the two fences the way you want to successfully. Do the whole thing, from the time you first see the fence, planning your speed and line, until you gallop away from the second one. This will make it (hopefully) more likely that you'll a) stick to your plan and b) be somewhat more relaxed about it. Worth a shot!

Good luck.
