Sorry, this seems a bit of a random and pointless post, but I was just wondering what colour jods you all wear as I have a bit of a dilemma:

I *think* that you're meant to wear cream jods for eventing (although can wear white ones for XC?!), which I have been wearing so far. However, I've noticed more and more people wearing white jods in all 3 phases...

I much prefer my white jods as they have a 'sticky bum' bit on them, and so this is nicer to ride in. My beige ones are a little bit uncomfortable, but not enough so to justify getting a new pair

If white is ok, then I may try and see if I can get away with them?!

There is nothing in the rule book to say you can't wear white. I guess it depends really on what colour jacket you have - if you have tweed I would say beige would be the more 'correct' choice. White Jods are fine with blue jacket - **whispers** although I would say that as I have a blue jacket and wear white jods for all 3 phases, but then again I do alot of bsja also so white jods is all I have and what I like!!

I always wear white and got away with it last season although - my jacket is black with white piping and I also wear white shirt and stock so don't think beige looks quite right tbh.

Check the rule book, but I think the dress code demands beige up to 2* / Advanced. It's in one of appendices. I don't think anybody would say anything - to your face; but it's a bit like people wearing white stocks with tweed coats, just not correct; (God I sound pompous - sorry).

Pretty sure I read this too! Sorry, I know you wanted a different answer! Not sure you'd ever get thrown out for wearing white jods, but wouldn't be worth the risk of hassle for me.

(plus I'm with Kerilli on the-darker-the-more-flattering theory!

If only biege could be as flattering as black...!

A friend (opposite sex) and I went through the BE rules on clothing recently and we decided (after about 1/2 an hour as it was so confusing) that women could never wear white, but men could. Men seem to be able to pretty well wear what they like, but women have certain colour combinations (jacket, stock, jod) which must match. You'd think that BE HQ would have more important things to worry about, but apparently not!

I thought the "rules" were just guide lines?!!
I personally have beige or cream. I know the teams have to wear white, male or female.
I think if white are to be worn i think they should be kept for navy/black.
And if you are tiny, as Kerilli says, darker = more flattering!
