I am finishing my second year at college around may-june and am then looking to become a working pupil. I was wondering if anyone has any sugestions as to who would be the best person to apply to? I would love the opportunity to be able to train and possibly compete, so it would be good if this came with the position. I realise that there needs to be a great deal of hard wrok and commitment with this sort of job, and i am really excited to be able to concentrate on eventing full time! I would really appreciate any info. Thanks

Would 2nd Bill Levett - Bill is a very nice chap, very supportive and gives his WP a horse to ride during the season. His previous head girl Collina has set up on her own now and he has helped her find owners and let her keep rides that she picked up at his.

PM Mossrose on here about Lucy W as she did a stint last season there. Cazcrazyjonty was a working pupil for Jade Lazenby. I think Sam Griffiths looks quite good as his WP has now got an ex advanced horse of his to ride.

The Freds? Dont go there! Unless your furiously rich...remember clay now charges £140 a lesson and expects his WP to pay similar amounts to keep horse there and to have lessons.

Sam Griffiths is good, lovely guy, great trainer, and also totally hot

would 3rd the Levetts!!
my horse is the one that the WP's ride and he is the best 'trainer' you could ask for. he has taken most of the WP's from never having competed to being placed at PN.

the Levett's are lovely people and the yard is very well run- the perfect place to improve your riding and yard skills.

Keep an eye on the job section of h&h as there are often eventers looking for WPs, there are some that say they give you a horse to compete, accom, wage etc

Good luck

I would third Bill Levett - he is incredibly nice and gives people a lot of opportunities - when he does not have a suitable horse he takes one on loan for the WPs. He's a great trainer too, sorted out my jumping no end!

I'd second the Wiegersmas - friend of mine was due to go to the Fredericks and went for a trial and didn't like it at all so went down to Devon and is having a blast.
