We have 3 of them in our hunter trials of varying size for pre novice, novice & open.. Sorry not much help! Depends on size of it, think it would likely be in a novice.
I'd say either - depends on height of course. But different PN and N courses have different levels of technicality, so it would not surprise me to see it in a PN - think there is one similar after one of the waters at Stockland Lovell which is in the PN - they have a smaller version for intro and a bigger one for Novice!
It's difficult to tell because of the angle of the picture, but I reckon it looks more Novice than pre-novice but then, we know how inconsistent some courses can be, so you never know, it may be Intro!
That'd be about novice then, or a high end PN possibly. The novice trakheners like that which I have come across so far tend (in my limited experience) to have a much bigger log on them to give a greater spread.
It looks a bit like one at Leyland court and I don't think there is anything there over PN standard.
Wooo Croeslan!
You there on saturday severnmiles?
I've done the open there twice & jumped that!
I'd say that table at fence 3 was bigger though - they put a big pole on top of it too
Doing the Intermediate this time though, I wan't sure if the open class was running because it isn't on the website..hmm.
Well I reckon Firle's trakhener is pretty scary for the Novice, and it's in the PN too! But they do have an alternative. It's definately got a scarier ditch than the one in this photo...
Yes, Yes and Yes!
Were you at Talsarn?
We'll have to arrange it this time. You definitely be there and so will I so we have no excuses! Heavens i've probably collected my bib off you twice and never known it!
Entry went in the post and looking forward to it now. I hope he's got his brave legs on on Sat!

Special prize if anyone recognises the course!

Bicton???
on the whole Trakenner front.. i reckon if i was a horse, i'd need a few 'schooling' sessions to get me over one!!
Strange tho, cos all my horses seem to jump them fine!!
I wouldn't.

Good Luck Sarah- I've done the Novice once and had a blast doing it (I was in a pair) so i'm sure you'll enjoy it! It's wicked!
I'll see you there

Good luck Law and Sarah...I wonder what acrobatics Mr Darcy will come up with this time
This is the only downside to being on a committee you don't really get time to ride yourself

That's the only thing that worries me slightly. I think i will try and trot the ditch this time and not allow him to see it when he's flat out galloping at it
The other coffins and ditches he's done since then have been flown over, full of confidence on his part, so I'm not sure what he'll do this time
That was half the problem last time, he was so sure of himself that he was flying until he saw the ditch and pulled on the handbrake!
