where you just cant ride your horse????
i love my instructor i think shes very good and what she does and i always take on board what she says i usually leave feeling very good about how the lesson went and what needs working on.
today was a completly different kettle of fish; new horse that my instructor hadnt seen me ride so only did little jumps and concentrated on techniques and general riding really, horse knows how to jump so height is never an issue, fairly new horse to me (7-8 months) so we are most deffinatly still in the getting to know each other stage, he tried his heart out bless him and i just felt like i couldnt ride him at all
every mistake made was me not him, i'd get half way over the fence and think why on earth didnt i look up or why did i hold him so much into the fence etc etc etc i left feeling very disheartened and generally p***** off with myself as i knew what i was doing wrong yet i was still doing it.... soooo fustrating!!
i personally have a few emtional issues when it comes to jumping; my last horse used to accelerate into her fences and then stop resulting in me being ditched 9 times out of 10! so with her i learnt to ride very defensively, where my new lad accelerates into his fences but has never once put a foot wrong so i know im riding him like i used to ride my mare and i know i shouldnt be because i dont need to, what i need to do is learn to trust him, hes sooo genuine and always tries his heart out, i cant help but feel like im riding him like a sack of ****
this is just a generally I'M FEELING SORRY FOR MYSELF POST please ignore me i need a kick up the backside and to sort my riding out nothing more
please feel free to tell me to bugger offf, grow a set and start riding properly!
on the upside i managed to dodge the rain showers for yesterdays dr lesson where i could actually ride! and also dodged them today so at least we stayed dry!
