spectacular fall last night... my fault completely. ouch! right on top of the jump. stood up thinking it wasn't too bad but crikey it hurts today!

lovely boy, stood looking at me as if to say 'what are you doing down there???'

I have and there were witnesses (unfortunately) been thrown into the first fence of a treble combination and flown through the whole lot and ended up in a heap of poles at the end. Yes that required a trip to hospital!

I have landed on XC fences and knocked the wind out of myself, I have also used them as mounting blocks to get back on

I have also landed on wings at various angles and had the multi coloured and unusual bruises to match.

I have also fallen off and landed straddled over the fence pole

See why I don't jump any more

Yep it does hurt - had internal bleeding 4 years ago from trying to jump - flew off the horse and landed on the fence with him watching with a smirk on his face!!!

I came off in a lesson over a large oxer made of jump for Joy competition grade poles. smashed into them with my back and broke 2 ribs. My instructor made me get back on and go over the jump before I could go to hospital so i finished on a high. God did that hurt.

I also managed to come off at Wales and West and landed between the two rails of an oxer holding my horses reins in one hand. He then calmly walked through the jump to me and demolished it around us. Leaving me on the ground covered in poles still holding his reins

I have landed so many times on jumps, barrells, poles etc you wouldnt believe!!!

If theres something in the school and i fall, you can guarantee i will hit it.

Here are the photos of the damage from my last fall, i got thrown through a jump and hit the wooden poles, really hurt:(

well i have a theory that when you 'grow up' you don't let yourself bounce like you did as a kid. when you know you're going to hit the deck you tense up and hurt yourself.

Plenty of times, it hurts like mad! That's why I now own a body protector and only jump max 2'9 on a good day!

Yup, I don't bounce as well as I just too, but I still think I'm 18 again anyway!

i got thrown face first through a jump. Chipped two teeth and broke my nose also had a bruised chin, black eyes and a really bent pair of glasses!

Those Piccys look very painful.....

yes I have been thrown off my horse, as my horse decided to get spooked by a crisp bag...lol and did a quick left turn sending me off the side of him down onto the poles but I was lucky they fell with me so not much damage really just a bit red for a couple of days....Did I feel Stupid?????YES YES....lol

yes, the only time I've fallen off in the last five years the horse put in a dirty stop, I somersaulted over his shoulder and got my foot caught on the top of the jump and brought all the poles down on my left ankle. Caused thrombophlebitis, months of physio and strong drugs to reduce the swelling in my artery.

Owww... I remember a horse who used to amuse himself on lessons by refusing at a jump from a decent canter, dropping his shoulder and stepping back, sending his rider head first into the fence. His aim was deadly, never missed... I landed on top of a jump with an 8" diameter pole :-(

ouch yes, several times! If there is something to land on that will hurt, I will land on it! Somehow once landed on a pole with a nail in it (Why did the pole have a nail in it!?) and you can guess what I landed on...yes, the nail, which went into my thigh, nice scar! Still makes me cringe thionking about it and it was over 10 years ago!

I've only really landed in the middle of a fence when my horses has! When I was younger, one of my ponies was a fab little thing but very very occassionally we'd cock up and he'd land clean in the middle of a spread, usually chucking me off. I remember once when my poor pony slid coming into a double but still tried to take off. He tripped and landed all over the fence, eventually falling completely over snapping 2 poles along the way. He banged his leg pretty hard that day. Poor boy!

I've been very lucky and haven't (touch wood) had many bad falls to date. I think some people are more prone than others! I have fallen off and smacked straight into a fence post, not sure if that counts as I wasnt intending to jump it! All my injuries (stitches, lots!) have been from incidents with fences.... usually barbed wire ones.
