so decided to sell my girl just before xmas, had no interest in the month she was up for sale, she has since been completly reschooled but how many people are actually looking for horses between 15-16 hands & 5-7 years old, PC type but would excel in SJ with competant rider, I was asking £3000 as I was hoping for a quick sale, do you think it might be the price outting people off ?

Thanks everyone

LOL, well you seem to be describing what most people on here have been asking for!!! I haven't had a single call either! But then he's not particularly cheap, although temperament alone (without considering confo etc) he's easily worth it! Where are you advertising??

I don't think it's the price however there does seem to be alot of slightly older 8-10 yr old horses selling for half that. Where have you advertised? have you tried pony club/riding club and hunts? Try advertising at local equine collages too if you have any. Have you got good pictures? 1 flat, 1 jump at least?

I tried horsemart & PC but they ran out last weekend, so trying to decide what websites to try tomorrow ?
a livery at the yard is a pro photographer so I have some lobely flatwork, side view standing square, jumping & a vid showing a dressage test, SJ course, stood for the farrier & loading

As the poster above said, have you got decent photos of the horse on your ad? Sometimes a video is a good selling point too, especially if you can show the horse has good flatwork and jumps ditches, into water and over fillers etc.

What has the horse actually been doing with you, has it actually been to PC rallies/camp and competed SJ? Have you listed any results it has had?

How have you worded the ad?

done PC rallies & camp for 2 years, started RC this year, many local unaff SJ very often gets placed, rider is not very confident / competitive so doesn't want to go onto BS(JA) which is what this mare would excel at :)
I tried to put in as much detail as possible without rambling,
included; age, height, breed, colour, gender, competiton record, vice free, all activities she has done, price, location
Photos; 2 flat, 1 SJ, 1 XC, 1 hacking past heavy traffic, 1 side & 1 rear photo for confo.
Video; sj course, dressage test, farrier, loading, coming to call, part of a hunter trial & all above photo's

If you're looking at where next my suggestions personally would be horsedeals and horse and hound, and adhorse the latter is only £5 including a photo, so neither here nor there!!!

try Horsequest, everything I know usually sells well on there. Sounds very reasonable price to me, good luck with finding her a nice home :)

Ditto as well, we have been trying to sell my daughters bsja schoolmistress since before xmas with no joy, we have had a couple come to try her but no joy. Am just hoping with better weather more buyers may emerge..lol

Same. I have a cracking 148cms with £6000 BS winnings with little interest.
The sun will be coming out to play soon though so hopefully that will make a difference.
