So I got an assignment - to write a report on the evolution of the horse. I've gone to research it and there seems to be hundreds of different names for the stages of the evolution! My handouts say there is just Hyracotherium, mesohippus, hipparion, pliohippus and equus, but then even the handouts have different names for them! Help?
