Introducing Mr Jack Fry my new eventer! hahahahha
We aquired Jack towards the end of last winter because he had broken his leg (spiral hairline fracture) and his owners didn't want to continue with the vets fees, the end was in sight for Jack!!!!
He is fully recovered now but has had a hard life being a successful P2P-er for most of it. Now he is starting on his rehab, and is being lunged and long reined to try and build up some much need condition lost when he was on box rest, before being ridden again. Depending on how his attitude and leg holds up I plan to reschool him to event, and fingers crossed will be getting out to some unaff stuff, and maybe the odd BE80 this season.
So what do you think, has he got potential?... He is whippet thin at the mo despite all the grub he is getting, but I think some regular work will fill him out, and he has the nicest temperament going.
Also what would you suggest training wise for a horse who has been off with an injury?....
There's a bit more about Jack on my latest blog www.gifthorseeventing.co.uk
