I bought Charlie as a skeletal little specimen last Feb. He had been out all winter with no where near enough food or rugs and was in an extremely emaciated state. First few months were basically getting the weight back on him and doing groundwork. Once on board, from May, with the help of my brilliant instructor, he has gone from strength to strength.
I was persuaded to do the riding club dressage today and have to say, I was feeling pretty nervous. He has been very good in lessons away from the yard and we've only had a couple of moments, but let's just say, he can really buck and leap!
However, he was so good. He's never been to the venue before. Working in outside, test indoors. He was on his toes, and I need to allow more time for acclimatising and working in but we came 2nd with 62%! So proud of him and really feeling positive about going out again. Now celebrating with a glass of wine!

Thank you so much! We have a lesson at Yorkshire Riding Centre tomorrow so are keeping momentum going. I'll sleep well tonight!
