I said I would take an ex-racer, she seemed really sweet although sharp to ride,

I had just decided to have her, she has just run through a thick post & rail
fence (before I picked her up)
she has a very bad leg injury- but I have told it shouldn't be a permanent injury,

Is this horse likely to do this again- I will be keeping her in a livery yard and I am worried this could be a regular thing, she was kept in a quiet field with a
companion mare

anyone else's horses do this? ;)

no idea,

I was just told they went out to the field to get her in & she had gone through the fence very badly:)

Chances are she'd either been chased, or had brake failure during a field 'hooly'.

If a horse wants to get out of a field for no other reason than they fancy it, then they will jump the fence - so my money is on something upsetting her in the field.

Either way if the injury is bad, it's probably going to be some time before she's ready to be re-homed. And I would expect them to do all the re-habbing before I collected her.

yeah,

thanks for the words of wisdom,

I get very panicky about taking on a new horse and making sure it is the
'right one'
